BANFF WEDDING VENUES

FEATURED VENUE PORTFOLIO

As an award-winning wedding videographer based in Alberta, we've had the pleasure of filming weddings at many Banff wedding venues. We especially love filming weddings surrounded by the breathtaking natural beauty and majestic mountain landscapes of the most exceptional Banff wedding venues.

At Castaño Films, our passion for filming luxury wedding films is backed by our title as the 2026 + 2025 runner-up wedding videographer as voted by Avenue Magazine Calgary readers. We also won Best Wedding Videographer in 2024 by Avenue Magazine.

Take a look at my favourite Banff wedding venues below, all of which our team at Castaño Films has had the privilege of filming at.

The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is an iconic castle in the heart of Banff, Alberta. From the outdoor terrace to the magnificent ballrooms, this venue can accommodate a wide range of weddings. Our team had the opportunity to film multiple weddings at this timeless venue, and it never fails to leave an impression. The hotel is cinematic in itself, with historic château-style architecture and beautiful rocky mountains in the backdrop, every celebration here feels elevated by the venue.

We'd love to share a bit about the history of this venue (as an avid history lover myself). The hotel was first built in 1883 and was inspired by a Châteauesque-style architecture. Then in the 1900-1920s, the hotel underwent several adjustments including the hotel’s iconic eleven-story tower. Not long after, an unfortunate fire destroyed the hotel in 1926, but was followed by a major restoration to the Castle that is on display today.

We love shooting at this venue because the architecture feels unique and grand for wedding films. Cinematic footage is available both inside and outside, with large windows in many parts of the hotel allowing for quality footage and photos without the need for artificial lighting. The interior design shows class and elegance, seamlessly balancing the mountains. As a bonus, we appreciate the service as the staff as they are always helpful and great to work with, and the food is delicious!

With a bird's-eye view of the beautiful Rocky Mountains, the Sky Bistro restaurant on top of Sulphur Mountain offers a unique experience as if you’re in the clouds. Taken up by an 8-minute gondola ride, you’ll be led to this wedding venue offering floor-to-ceiling windows, so you can take in the breathtaking views. Complete with modern Canadian decor, Sky Bistro is truly a one-of-a-kind Banff experience.

Because our team has filmed at Sky Bistro Banff, we've seen how all the guests love the journey up the mountain to the restaurant, and how they enjoy the breathtaking views during their reception. A favourite moment of ours is heading to their patio during sunset and getting romantic footage of the couple. The atmosphere there is just magical.

The Rimrock Resort is surrounded by Banff’s beautiful rivers and meadows. This wedding venue is more than just a destination, but an immersion into Banff's nature and mountains. With spaces for the quiet intimacy of a terrace ceremony to a lively grand reception, the Rimrock Banff is a perfect place for the day you vow to forever be with your loved one.

Our team finds Rimrock Banff to be such a cozy place in the middle of the mountains. It’s more discreet than the Banff Springs where you’ll often find tourists walking around. Couples can still have a quick drive to the Bow Fall Trails for beautiful pictures and video too.

Surrounded by Banff’s beautiful scenery and nature, Tunnel Mountain Reservoir is the perfect place for couples opting for an outdoor ceremony in Banff. This ceremony space allows for both seated and standing ceremonies, along with a breathtaking panoramic backdrop.

Our team loves the beautiful natural backdrop that Tunnel Mountain offers for ceremonies. There have been plenty of international couples that travel all the way here just for that view! Moreover, Tunnel Mountain is not crowded despite being a few minutes away from Banff.

Just minutes from downtown Banff is Mount Norquay, a cozy atmosphere with an alpine ambiance for your special day. This venue offers spaces like the timber-framed Cascade Lodge and its patio, and the down-to-earth Lone Pine Lawn with the beautiful Rockies in the background. Mount Norquay is a favourite destination for many couples, especially those wanting a rustic ski-resort vibe for their wedding day.

We appreciate how large and comfortable the venue is for grand weddings. You can take a scenic 10-minute chairlift ride up Banff Mt. Norquay to 7,000 feet, where sweeping views of the Town of Banff, the Spray and Bow Valleys, and the dramatic ridges of Mt. Rundle creates an unforgettable backdrop.

A favourite whimsical mountain wedding venue area is at Banff Park Ranch. This secluded mountain space allows you and your guests to experience the stunning beauty of the Canadian Rocky Mountains privately, so that you can enjoy the moments with your loved ones. Banff Park Ranch is a space that can be used for intimate or grand weddings.

We find that the rustic and country vibe that Banff Park Ranch gives off is super fun. It’s also a great venue for large weddings, providing plenty of room for your guests. Despite being pretty much in the Banff area, you won’t find crowds of tourists here which gives a sense of privacy too.

Park Distillery is a venue in downtown Banff that offers a back-country, campfire ambiance. This restaurant in the heart of Banff offers several rooms for your wedding day. With house made spirits and gourmet meals, this rustic space is perfect for couples looking for a relaxed and fun atmosphere. For spirit enthusiasts, Park Distillery also offers tour experiences where you can learn how they make their award-winning spirits, and even sample some or make your own to take home.

We love the food at Park Distillery — the rotisserie chicken and the prime rib are fantastic. The atmosphere is modern and trendy which our team likes too! We find this space a bit cozier out of the Banff venues. So, we would highly recommend this space for people who prefer a more intimate setting with a smaller guest list.
