Just a five minute walk from Canmore’s main street is The Malcolm Hotel, a luxurious alpine sanctuary designed to reflect the heritage of the past Scottish King Malcolm III. This venue situated between Spring Creek and Policeman’s creek offers a peaceful atmosphere set with stunning mountain views and magnificent food. For outdoor ceremonies, the Edinburgh Terrace offers a beautiful backdrop with Canmore’s lush trees and mountains. This terrace seamlessly connects to the Edinburgh Castle Room and Edinburgh Holyrood room for an indoor space. These rooms can combine together to create the Edinburgh Ballroom with a capacity of up to 256 guests. You and your guests can count on a relaxing stay with their spacious rooms and tranquil rooftop pool and hot tub.
The Malcolm Hotel is a favourite Canmore venue of mine. It’s exceptionally cozy, with fantastic views surrounding it and a gorgeous lake wrapping around the hotel. I find that the service and food provided are consistently excellent. From a videographer stand point, I greatly appreciate the convenience in setting up and the ample storage space for my team's equipment. There’s also a pull-down projector screen in the Edinburgh Ballroom where I can present same-day edits for you and your guests — something unique to this venue. I also relish a good sunset which you can often see at this venue. During past weddings, I often witnessed guests head outside to watch the spectacular sunsets during the wedding reception.

Set within Canmore’s sweeping valleys and beautiful mountains is the Silvertip Resort. This venue is a world-class mountain golf course that provides a romantic backdrop filled with lush meadows and scenic valley views. Elegant outdoor spaces like The Gazebo are perfect for spring and summer weddings, and the Three Sisters Patio for fall and winter weddings. Cozy indoor spaces like The Pavilion and The Sinclair Room are open all year-round for your wedding celebrations.
I personally love the views at this resort. At the back of the venue is a grand golf course that looks phenomenal with the Rocky Mountains that surround the whole venue. The gazebo outdoor ceremony space also offers impressive views where you can see the Three Sisters peaks, all of which I enjoy filming during weddings.

The Cornerstone Theatre is a Manitoba barn-board building that was first built as a professional theatre which reuses the professional stage lighting and sound systems for your party. Its sister venues include The Rundleview Room and The Vista. This wedding space has a lodge-style barnwood interior and beautiful cathedral ceilings. It also offers one of Canmore’s only private outdoor ceremony locations with unobstructed mountain views — Canmore Ranch — perfect for a mountain dream wedding come true. At Cornerstone Theatre, your reception is complete in a modern rustic indoor space, including the entire lobby area inspired by mid-century architecture.
I really like filming at this venue and featuring its more vintage and rustic vibe. The venue is quite large and fits a decent amount of people too. My team and I quite appreciate the convenience for setup because of the sound systems that are already in place at the theatre. Finally, I’ve quite enjoyed filming weddings with ceremonies held at Canmore Ranch — their private mountain ceremony space — then receptions held at Cornerstone Theatre. I find there’s a great balance between the two spaces for both the couple and for filming, and the spaces are quite close to one another too!
